Professionals have standards.

I've started playing as the Sniper much more recently. I feel there is something wonderful about waiting in position, for your target to come within your sights... I've started playing a little game, where I choose one player on the opposite team and aim to dominate them with just headshots. It sounds silly and I might not be much use to my team, but it's nice having a single target.

Hydro is least favourite map?

What's your favourite map? It seems like cp_Hydro is the least played. I always enjoyed it, to be honest, and I liked to idea of the quarters rotating round...
If anyone doesn't know Hydro, here's a snapshot.

Spy vs Sniper

The most interesting update...
The update that excited me the most was the Sniper/Spy one. The way it was announced was spectacular.
Anyway, I've been editing this blog and adding new things, but I don't know if it's working. I'd greatly appreciate some input and advice about my changes. Thanks, followers!

Batting a heavy and medic...
I love playing as a Scout. Ferociously batting everyone you see is the best method of Spy prevention. And nothing scares someone more than a Scout with a love affair for caving your skull in.

Spying as a Spy

I'm having difficulty playing as a spy for some reason, a lot of players seem really paranoid. Does anyone have any tips at all? I mainly use the Cloak and Dagger and spend most of my time invisible.

Lurk more.

Playing Heavy

I've found that playing as a heavy is more about tactical thinking and placement, than reflexes. To deal the most damage, you need to be within a close to medium range of your target. Thus, placing yourself within this range is imperative to your success. I often try to close the distance with my enemies, so I can deal large amounts of damage quickly and effectively. Oh and one new feature is the ability to drop a sandvich on the floor to give health to anyone who picks it up. This is a nice way of giving yourself more of a chance in a firefight by throwing it at your feet.

Engineer Update

I want to get more of the new engineer unlocks, especially the Wrangler. I find the idea of manually controlling your sentry. Also, "the Wrangler gives the Sentry Gun a shield that absorbs 66% of incoming damage, doubles the gun's firing rate, and increases the missile launch rate at level 3. When switching to another weapon away from the Wrangler, the Sentry Gun is left defenseless for 3 seconds, after which time it will resume normal operation." This sounds like it becomes much more powerful when you control it. Obviously the downside is how vulnerable you are while controlling it, and the 3 second cooldown.

...build more gun.

New unlocks for me!

I unlocked two weapons today. The Tribalman's shiv for the sniper and Frontier Justice for the engineer. The Frontier Justice "cannot randomly Crit and has half the magazine size of the regular Shotgun (3 from 6), but can get Revenge Crits: For every kill your Sentry Gun racks up, upon its destruction the Frontier Justice gets 2 guaranteed Crits; for every assist, it gets 1. This applies even if the Engineer destroys his own Sentry Gun with the PDA. However, the Frontier Justice can only store up to 35 Critical hits at one time." It's an interesting concept, which I'm going to play with. It allows the engineer to store massive amounts of damage until they need it.

The Tribalman's shiv (with suspect spelling) "leaves a seeping wound upon striking an enemy, which bleeds out for 6 seconds after being inflicted. However, the knife itself deals 50% less damage as a trade-off." This could be a good way of making the Sniper more of a threat in melee, but the kukri was always pretty powerful with a long range to help. We'll see.

The Sniper keeps a look out for the BLU team.
